User Activity Report Returns No Results After Upgrade to Knowledgebase 9.0

THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO:

Knowledgebase 9.X which were upgraded from a previous version

ISSUE DESCRIPTION:

After upgrading from a previous version of Knowledgebase to Version 9.0 or higher the User Activity Report does not return any results

ROOT CAUSE:

The User Activity Report is a new report created specifically for Portal Style 4 Customer Portals.  This report will only return data for User Activity in a Portal Style 4 Customer Portal.  If only Customer Portals set up in Portal Styles 1, 2 or 3 exist within the Knowledgebase then no User Activity will be returned by the Report.

SOLUTION OR WORK AROUND:

  1. Create a Portal Style 4 Customer Portal
  2. Wait while users visit and view articles in the portal
  3. In the Admin Control Panel navigate to Reports > User Activity
  4. Select the desired parameters that you wish to report on
  5. Press the Search button

You should now see results from User Activity in the Portal Style 4 Customer Portals

Knowledgebase Admins who wish to run the User Activity Report in Knowledgebase 9.0
