Unable to initialize Archive database with with Channels 9.4 CU10 QFE 2 and later.

Archive fails with an error ‘Processing Error: Unable to initialize Archive database.’ when attempting to initialize or reinitialize the Channels Archive Database 


This is an issue beginning with Channels 9.4 CU10 QFE 2 and later.


To solve this issue

  1. Stop the Channels Service
  2. Replace the makeindex_mssql.sql file in the <Channels install directory>\Channels\conf directory with the attached version of the file: makeindex_mssql.sql.
  3. Start the Channels Service
  4. Initialize the Archive database
