Moxie Applications Support for Internet Explorer 11

Moxie’s Channels platform currently depends on Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) browser functionality for its Administration Client.

Internet Explorer 11 desktop application is out support by Microsoft. (Microsoft support article)

The Channels Administrator has been tested using the Microsoft Edge browser in IE mode beginning with version CU15 QFE03.   Using this mode may require that your network administrator enable Internet Explorer integration using Group Policy. For information on configuring Group Policy, see the Microsoft documentation: Configure IE mode policies.   Beginning with Edge version 92, Windows 10 users may be able to configure this mode directly, without Group Policies.  For information review the Microsoft documentation Enable the local site list experience.

Internet Explorer (IE) mode relies on Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) to function. Uninstalling or removing IE11 will cause IE mode to no longer work.   After you configure IE mode, you can disable IE11 as a standalone browser without affecting IE mode functionality across your organization using group policy. Note that Windows 11 does not support installing IE11, however, IE Mode is supported in Edge in Windows 11.

Using Microsoft Edge in IE mode is a supportable option if IE 11 is no longer available in your environment. Microsoft is encouraging its customers to move to Microsoft Edge with IE mode. IE mode enables backward compatibility and will be supported through at least 2029.

Moxie is planning to support other browsers for the Channels Administration Client. This Knowledge article and the Channels Release Notes will be updated to keep you informed as we progress.

Moxie's Agent Client can launch with virtually any browser on Windows 10, including Microsoft Edge, Chrome, and Firefox beginning with Channels release version 9.4 CU12 QFE 8. Beginning with this release, Moxie's Agent Client no longer requires the Java SSV Helper Plug-Ins for IE 11.
