Translation Error on the Swedish Customer Portal

THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO:

Knowledgebase version 8.2 (Swedish Language Enabled)

ISSUE DESCRIPTION:

Translation error on the Swedish version of customer portal; it´s the translation of “Latest searches” and “Latest articles”, occurs when you have searched for an article and you are viewing the results page. “Latest searches” should be in Swedish “Senaste sökningar”, “Latest Articles” should be “Senaste artiklar” (there is “Sista” instead of “Senaste”). Demonstrated on the screenshot below:

ROOT CAUSE:

The translation in the Swedish xml file is incorrect.

SOLUTION OR WORK AROUND:

Use the following steps to resolve this issue:

1. On the Knowledgebase Application Server, navigate to the ”Knowledgebase.Net\knowledgebase\applicationprogram\ini\languages” folder, and make a backup copy of the “swedish.xml” file.

2. Open the “swedish.xml” file for editing:
 


3. In the “swedish.xml file, perform a search for “Sista”, and replace them to “Senaste” (there will be 2 hits, you’ll need to replace the words in two places).

4. Save the changes in the “swedish.xml” file.


Note:  This could be overwritten in future versions.

AFFECTED SYSTEMS & USERS:

Administrators who maintain a Knowledgebase with the Swedish language enabled.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

After upgrading/updating your Knowledgebase software, you should check the Swedish.xml file to ensure that the manual correction has not been overwritten.
