Backing Up My Knowledgebase Application Server

THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO:
All versions of Knowledgebase.
PROCESS:
Prior to applying a hotfix or service pack (or ANY patches, updates, etc) to your Knowledgebase Application Server, perform the following steps to backup your system:

Back the Sql database and the following tables within these databases:
- ecrmAdmin
- ecrmForum
- ecrmImport
- ecrmKB
- ecrmLog
- ecrmReports
- ecrmUser
- Ensure you Backup the knowledgebase directory (Example: x:\Program Files\Knowledgebase.Net - where x is the drive letter where you Knowledgebase is installed.)
- Also Ensure you backup all of your Knowledgebase data files lets say you have them in the following directory (Example: x:\KBData). x is the drive letter where you have the KB date directory located.
If you backup all this material prior to making any changes on your server, it will make it easy to roll back in case you encounter any issues after applying a service pack or hot fix.
