Knowledgebase Security Settings Error While Installing ASP.NET

All versions of Knowledgebase.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION:

On Knowledgebase's with Active Directory Intergration enabled, the following error is received:

Error 1609.
An error occurred while applying security settings.
ASPNET is not a valid user or group.

ROOT CAUSE:

If ASP.NET is installed after a system has been raised to be a Domain Controller, the local user ASPNET is not created. In such a system there is no concept of local users in an active directory domain.

SOLUTION OR WORK AROUND:

Create a domain user called ASPNET and ensure that appropriate permissions are set, as laid out in the installation guide.
