Webpage With 'Invalid Login Attempt' Error Received When Service Line is Closed

THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO:

Moxie Channels NetAgent version 7.0 (Chat) and later.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION:

When customers attempt to generate a chat request during off hours, they receive the 'Invalid login attempt' page instead of being redirected to the closed URL designated in the Moxie Channels Web Administrator.

ROOT CAUSE:

The ‘Closed URL’ field in the Portal Style of the Moxie Channels Web Administrator does not contain a valid entry for the URL.

SOLUTION OR WORK AROUND:

There are two options for how customers can enter chat sessions. The can enter through the Customer Client link found in the Netagent Quick Links page or by clicking on the Chat button in the web site portal. The configuration for these options are found in different sections of the Admin console.

Access through the NetAgent Quick Links Page
When the Service Line is closed and the Customer Client link found in the Netagent Quick Links page is used to generate a chat, the customer will be presented with the URL that is specified under Chat then System URLs in the 'System / service line schedule closed URL' field.

Access Through the Chat Button Displayed in the Web Site Portal
When the Service Line is closed and the customer is using the Chat button found in the Web portal that was created in Portal Builder, the customer will be presented with the URL that is specified by going to Chat, then Portal Builder and Portal Style tab in the 'Closed URL' field.

However, when the 'Closed URL' field does not specify a URL, the customer is presented with the 'Invalid login attempt' page when attempting to generate a chat session while the service line is closed.
