Unable to Log In to the KB Admin Control Panel using a non-Internet Explorer Browser

THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO:

Knowledgebase version 7.0 and later.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION:

The KB Admin Control Panel is intended for use with Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher. Users using alternate browsers (Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, Opera, etc) cannot log in to the KB Admin Control Panel. When users attempt to log in using any non-MSIE browser, they will see a message to this effect:
 

ROOT CAUSE:

This is working as expected. The KB Admin Control Panel takes advantage of specific functionality found only in Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Please note: This is for the Admin Control Panel only. Customers should be able to use the Customer Portal normally regardless of browser.

SOLUTION OR WORK AROUND:

Download and install the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

If you encounter the error message (shown in the image above) while using Microsoft Internet Explorer to access the KB Admin Control Panel, please remove the Google Chrome Toolbar which alters Internet Explorer in a way that prevents the page from loading properly.
