Referencing the Files Uploaded in the Web File Manager

PROCESS:

These steps will allow you to add web file content to articles by referencing files uploaded to the Web File Manager.

  1. Log in to the KB Admin Control Panel.
  2. Obtain the IP address of the Customer Portal by clicking on the Administration Tab. In the System Settings, look for the Portal URL. In this example we will use http://192.168.150.121.
  3. Click the Content tab.
  4. Click Web File Manager in the left pane.
  5. Within the Web File Manager, locate the file you want to use.
  6. Obtain the file path by highlighting the desired file. The path is in the top field of the Web File Manager (example: "/pf/12/webfiles/images/logo.jpg")
  7. Create an article following the standard guidelines for your organization.
  8. Click the Source tab at the bottom of the Online Editor and enter the HTML code for the file you wish to refrence. For example, referencing an image would follow this format < IMG src=http://192.168.150.121/pf/12/webfiles/images/logo.jpg > in the source.
  9. After you reference the web file in an article or portal area, the file is embedded in that specific area and will be displayed.
