THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO:
All versions of Knowledgebase.
ISSUE DESCRIPTION:
While logging to KB Admin Control Panel, the user encounters this error: "An error occurred, Error Code: LDAP.”
ROOT CAUSE:
This occurs when attempting to use Active Directory(AD) integration with Knowledgebase without having a license enabled for that feature.
The error occurs because your license key does not allow AD integration, but AD use has been manually enabled within the config-admin.xml file. Since the config-admin.xml file has been manually adjusted to import AD user groups via an LDAP string, the error will be seen when attempting to log into the KB Admin Control Panel (which triggers a licensed feature check).

SOLUTION OR WORK AROUND:
You can resolve this in one of two ways:
- If your license is missing the Active Directory (AD) permission, but you require it, please contact your Moxie Software Sales Account Manager at 1-877-373-7848 (option 2) to request a corrected license be provided.
- If you have adjusted the config-admin.xml file in error while attempting to test AD integration, please access the file and ensure that the LDAP toggles are set to "0" instead of "1". The file is located here: x
:\\Program Files\Knowledgebase.Net\applicationprogram\ui\http\clientportal\config-admin.xml (where x is the drive where the Knowledgebase is installed).
AFFECTED SYSTEMS & USERS:
Internal Users and Administrators.
