Some PDF Articles are Not Searchable

ISSUE DESCRIPTION:

Some PDF articles are not included in search results.

ROOT CAUSE:

The Microsoft Indexing Service, due to limitations in third party components, does not index 9.0 versions of PDF files.

SOLUTION OR WORK AROUND:

We do not support PDF 9.0 with Knowledgebase 8.0.4. This is a third party limitation, which means it does not lie within the product itself. The best alternative or workaround for this is to save the documents in PDF with earlier versions.  In all newer versions of Knowledegebase we use a new search engine autonomy, thus negating the issue in any supported version.

AFFECTED SYSTEMS & USERS:

Knowledgebase 8.0.4 users who are searching for terms that should return a version 9.0 PDF file.
