PROCESS:
This article provides details regarding the Scheduled Tasks in use by Knowledgebase.
AFFECTED SYSTEMS & USERS:
The following is a list of the Scheduled Tasks and their functions. These can be found in the Scheduled Task application found by clicking on Start, then Programs. Next click Accessories, then System Tools and finally Scheduled Tasks.
KBArticleAlert: Alerts when an article will expire, expired or has been expired
KBArticleTransfer: Transfers article from one KB knowledgebase to another KB knowledgebase
KBArticleUpdate: Places article(s) in a queue to update the kb file, then executes and updates the kb file.
KBCheckInCheckOutMaintence: This enforces the rules for check in and check out and it also notifies you via alert
KBCreateLogDates: Creates the dates in the database for the portal log
KBImportCHM: Imports help files, which are in .chm format
KBImportSites: Remote site search allows search indexing of other websites (example yahoo.com) (only for Enterprise Edition)
KBMaintenance: Runs the queue to change the status of the workflow of the articles selected
KBNotification: Sends notification that the article is about ready to expire or it has been expired
KBPortLog: Updates how many people have visited the KB portals you created
KBSearchCleanUp: Searches that are written to a temp file and deletes the file each day "In KB 8.0.4" and below only"
KBSearchUpdate: Updates the information for the self learning search
KBServerService: Task that delete the caching on the KB portal
KBSubscription: Queue to update the kb subscription for customers to KB articles
KBTemplateTransfer: Runs the queue to apply any updates changes to the KB template which you may be utilizing
KBUpdateArticleVisit: Updates the number of visits to the article and this is also responsible for updating the hot topics
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
"KBSearchCleanUp Task" is only utilized in Knowledgebase (KB) 8.0.4 and earlier KB versions.
The following Tasks are utilized in Autonamy KB versions 8.1.1 thru 9.0.1.
