Article Management Page Shows Incorrect Status for Updated Published Articles

Knowledgebase versions 8.3.x through 9.0.0.71.1

ISSUE DESCRIPTION:

When a new version of a Published article is created, it still shows up as "Published" on the Article Management page and in Article reports.

ROOT CAUSE:

This is by design. The Article Management page shows article workflow status "Published" if it has a published version. If the article does not have any version published, it shows the latest version workflow status.

SOLUTION OR WORK AROUND:

This behavior is by design in Knowledgebase version 8.3.2, 9.0, and 9.0 Hot Fix 1.

Beginning in version 9.0 SP1 the design has changed and will display both the published status (for published articles) and the status of the most recent version of the article.
