CHM File Generated by Export Portal Process is not Searchable

THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO:

Knowledgebase version 8.3.2.21.2

ISSUE DESCRIPTION:

Searching an offline Portal that has been exported from Knowledgebase returns an error message of "No topics found."

ROOT CAUSE:

The itircl.dll file is not properly registered.

SOLUTION OR WORK AROUND:

  1. On the Application Server click Start then select Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type CMD and press [ENTER].
  3. At the command prompt, type "cd x:\Program Files\KnowledgeBase.Net\knowledgebase\applicationprogram\scripts\export\chm" where x is the drive letter that Knowledgebase is installed on.
  4. Type regsvr32 itircl.dll and press [ENTER].

This should resolve the issue.

AFFECTED SYSTEMS & USERS:

Administrators who have exported their Portal.
