Sorting Search Results not Staying Sorted on Portal Style 4

ISSUE DESCRIPTION:

When using advanced search on portal style 4 search results loose focus (criterion spontaneously resets to default) if any criterion is altered after the initial search is made.  Normally it would be expected behavior for the search results to keep their focus even if some criteria was reset for a new search.

How to confirm that the issue is present?
1. Log in to a portal using Portal Style 4 and hit advanced search
2. Search for something.  
3. When results are presented change the "sort by" dropdown to modified date
Note: It doesn't matter what criteria is set, just needs to be different.  Take note that the percentages of relevance change to correct percentages.
4.  Now go to the left in the pane and uncheck any of the boxes for refining the results and the search results lose focus and go back to relevance.  The percentages change again to show previous default relevance instead of the modified date criterion.

Hotfix 4 for Knowledgebase 9.0.1 and later, our fixes are cummulative
