Does the Portal Style 4 Portal Feedback Widget Generate an Email Notification?

ISSUE DESCRIPTION:

Some Knowledgebase Administrators have contacted Moxie Support to ask why their Portal Feedback widget does not generate an email notification when submitted.

ROOT CAUSE:

The Portal Feedback widget is neither designed nor intended to generate an email notification. There is some confusion on this issue amongst Knowledgebase users due to the Article Feedback functionality which does generate an email notification.

The Portal Feedback widget -- native to Portal Style 4 portals in Knowledgebase version 9.0 -- allows portal visitors to provide feedback. When submitted, that feedback is written to the reporting database and is instantly accessible from within the Admin Panel via the Feedback Report, but no email notification is generated nor should be expected.

SOLUTION OR WORK AROUND:

This behavior is by design.

Please note: while Moxie Product Management has Portal Feedback notification on the product roadmap (for inclusion in a future build), it is not yet confirmed for any specific build of the product.
