Searching for E-mails Within Microsoft Outlook in the Customer Portal

THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO:

Knowledgebase 8.3.2 thru 9.0.1 hotfix 4

PROCESS:

To use an email from Microsoft Outlook as content of an article by uploading it in the Knowledgebase tool follow the below steps.

1.      In Microsoft Outlook select the target email.

2.      Open the Email and go to (File) in the top left corner.

3.      Select> Save as option and name the file that is to be saved.

a.       A dialogue window will appear:



a.       Here are the options:

                                                              i.      Text Only (*.txt)

                                                             ii.      Outlook Template (*.oft)

                                                           iii.      Outlook Message Format (*.msg)

                                                           iv.      HTML (*.htm; *.html)

                                                            v.      MHT Files (*.mht)

 

The only files which will be viewable & searchable by the autonomy search engine are Microsoft Outlook emails saved with the format HTML (*.htm;*.html) no other formats will work in the Knowledgebase tool.
