Error when Creating Glossary Term: getObj: Id has no object(btnSubmit)

THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO:

All versions of Knowledgebase

ISSUE DESCRIPTION:

When creating a Glossary Term in the Admin Panel, a pop up error occurs in the browser:

Followed by another error:

ROOT CAUSE:

The reason for this error is that the Internal Access Profile in use lacks permission to the Default Workflow, but does have the Create Glossary Term permission. This allows the user to access the portions of the Admin Panel used to create new glossary terms, but does not allow them to create the terms. All Glossary Terms utilize the Default Workflow, and without permissions enabled to allow the user to create items in that workflow, glossary terms cannot be created.

SOLUTION OR WORK AROUND:

Edit the internal access profile to allow permissions to the Default workflow.

  1. Log into the Admin Panel
  2. Click Administration
  3. Click Internal Access Profile
  4. Click the name of the profile to be edited
  5. Scroll Down to Workflow Access
  6. Ensure that the Default Workflow is configured appropriately to allow creation of content.
  7. Click Save

AFFECTED SYSTEMS & USERS:

Any Internal User who has the Create Glossary Term permission, but lacks permission to create content in the Default Workflow.
