How to Link to Articles Within the Online Editor

PROCESS:

Note: To link between articles, the article ID# of the target article needs to be known. 

To link to another article please follow these steps:

  1. Within the online editor, highlight the text to be used as the article link
  2. From the editor toolbar, find and click the Insert Article Link button
  3. Add the target article's ID# into the ArticleID field

    (an anchor may also be added if one has been created in the target article)
  4. Click Insert

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

During content creation, case may be encountered where it is necessary to create a link to an article that has not been written yet. In those cases, it's best to create a separate placeholder article (so that the article's ID# is known), then enter that placeholder ID# into the link field. That way, the content will be linked properly and all that is needed is to finish creating the unwritten article at a later time under the already existing article ID#.
