Application Error When Viewing Hyperlinks in Articles

THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO:
Knowledgebase version 9.0 and later.
ISSUE DESCRIPTION:
When clicking a hyperlink within an article, an Oops error is encountered.
ROOT CAUSE:
In Knowledgebase version 9.0, the new online editor tool requires that selection of an appropriate link type when inserting hyperlinks into articles.
Articles left as type "Other" will be treated as internal portal resources. The result of this is that the URL entered will be appended to the end of the portal URL like so:

SOLUTION OR WORK AROUND:
When creating hyperlinks in version 9.0, it is required that to specify the appropriate link Type (http://, https://, ftp://, etc).
