ROOT CAUSE:
During installation of Microsoft SQL Server 2008, the NETWORK SERVICE account was selected to run the SQL Server and SQL Agent services.
SOLUTION OR WORK AROUND:
In order for the Knowledgebase v9.0.2 installer to properly install the DB components, the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 services (SQL Server and SQL Agent) must be running under the Local System account.
To check this:
To check this:
- Using an administrator account from within the database server, click Start>Run
- Type services.msc
- In the Services window, locate the MSSQLSERVER items (SQL Server, SQL Server Agent, etc).
- Ensure that each of the MSSQLSERVER services are configured to Log On As Local System. If any are using Network Service, change it to use Local System by right clicking the service, then clicking Properties, then clicking the Log On tab and selecting Local System account.
- After clicking OK, stop and restart the edited service to apply the new identity.
