KB 9.x Data Export

Knowledgebase 9.x customers that are hosted within Moxie's Cloud Services may request a data export for a variety of reasons. If you are interested in requesting a data export, or have additional questions about data exports, please contact your Moxie Customer Success Manager and/or Account Owner.

What is included in a KB 9.x Data Export?
The data export contains:

  • A backup of the Knowledgebase application’s databases in MSSQL .bak format.
    • ecrmAdmin
    • ecrmImport
    • ecrmKB
    • ecrmLogs
    • ecrmReports
    • ecrmUser
    • ecrmForums **- this database is only available for customers who utilized an older legacy implementation of Forums.
  • A copy of the ‘KBDATA’ folder containing all existing versions of your articles, webfiles, attachments, and other content.
  • An Excel spreadsheet including details of your existing articles, the queries used to backup and restore the MSSQL databases, and the version of MSSQL used for your data.

What will I need in order to access the data in my export?

  • The databases will be exported in MS SQL .bak format. To restore and query those, you will need MSSQL server.
    • The backup and restore commands are included in the Excel sheet.
  • The ‘KBDATA’ folder contents will be in the same format as used in the application (ex. html, doc, docx, pdf, xls, etc) so you will need the applications necessary to view those file types.

Will I be provided a list of all my currently live articles?

Yes, Moxie will provide an Excel spreadsheet containing a list of all published articles.

Will I be provided a list of article versions (for example, for auditing needs)?

Yes, in that same Excel spreadsheet will be a separate tab including a list of all existing versions of all articles.

Is there a cost?

This is dependent upon your contract with Moxie. If you’re unsure, please check with your Moxie Customer Success Manager and/or Account Owner.
